The University of Idaho has opened registration for spring 2027 BASI Pilates teacher-training programmes, combining online lectures with four in-person practical modules. The university says the courses are designed for aspiring instructors, existing practitioners and professionals seeking a broader movement qualification.

The University of Idaho has opened registration for two spring 2027 Pilates teacher-training programmes delivered through BASI Pilates’ hybrid Flex format. The university announced the programmes on October 27, 2026, describing them as professional-development opportunities for people pursuing Pilates careers or looking to deepen their movement knowledge.

The two options are Mat Pilates Teacher Training and Mat & Reformer Pilates Teacher Training. The latter covers beginning-to-advanced mat repertoire and beginning-to-intermediate Reformer exercises. Both programmes combine online lectures with four in-person modules, scheduled for February 6–7 and February 27–28, 2027. Participants must also complete required practice hours and assessments before receiving a BASI Pilates teacher certificate.

The University of Idaho says the curriculum includes body mechanics, teaching techniques, anatomy and exercise modifications for people with different abilities. The programmes are open to university students, staff, alumni and members of the wider community. The university also says students may be eligible for practicum or internship credit, networking and job-placement opportunities.

Tuition for the Mat & Reformer programme starts at $2,700 until November 1, 2026, then rises in stages to $3,000 after January 1, 2027. The mat-only programme costs $1,350. The staged pricing and university setting make this a useful development for prospective instructors comparing education routes, while the hybrid structure reflects the continuing move towards combining digital theory with supervised, in-person practice. As with any certificate, the announcement describes the programme’s structure and claims; it does not independently assess the training’s quality or employment outcomes.
